Roland Tschanz is the Managing Director of the Nespresso Sustainability Innovation Fund at Nestlé Nespresso SA, Switzerland, the worldwide pioneer and reference in premium portioned coffee. In his role, he oversees Nespresso’s long-term investments in reviving coffee regions, investments in agroforestry, and building platforms for investing to improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. Before taking on his current role at the beginning of 2021, he was the Regional Business Head ROW, overseeing the Nespresso markets in Latam, Canada, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and the Middle East. In that time period also falls a volunteer mission to Kenya with TechnoServe. In the Nestlé Group since 1992, he also held responsibilities in Finance & Control in Switzerland, the Philippines, and China and acted as Deputy Head of the Department of Economics & International Relations for the Nestlé Group at its headquarters in Switzerland. Before joining Nestlé Nespresso in 2008, Roland held for eight years various marketing, sales, and management positions at Nestlé Waters in Japan, Vietnam, and Korea. Roland, a Swiss native, holds a BA in Business Administration and an MBA from the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), Lausanne, Switzerland.
