Myriam Sainz is Director of Strategic Initiatives at TechnoServe. In this role, she drives the growth of TechnoServe’s strategic partnerships with corporations, building inclusive business models that generate value for companies while taking farmers and small business owners out of poverty. Since 2014, Myriam has led the scale-up of the Nespresso partnership in Ethiopia and Kenya and developed a new Reviving Origins platform across South Sudan, Zimbabwe, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. These programs now impact over 70,000 coffee farming families and 300 small agricultural businesses and employ hundreds of women agronomists in rural communities. Myriam also served previously with TechnoServe in Guatemala in 2006, providing business advisory to social entrepreneurs and piloting innovative smallholder development business models.

Prior to her current role at TechnoServe, Myriam was a strategy consultant with McKinsey & Company’s Miami office for five years. During this time, she advised top management of $10 billion agribusiness and consumer good corporations and public sector clients on emerging market growth strategies, partnerships for economic development, and sales and operations transformations. Projects spanned across the Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa. 

Myriam holds a Master’s Degree with Honors from the Georgetown School of Foreign Service and a B.A. in Business Management and Administration from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid. She speaks Spanish, English, French, and German.
