Jerome Perez

Global Head of Sustainability
Nespresso

Jerome Perez is Global Head of Sustainability at Nestlé Nespresso SA, Switzerland, the worldwide pioneer, and market reference in premium portioned coffee. Sustainability is embedded in the way Nespresso manages all operations, from coffee sourcing to capsule recycling. The mission is threefold: protecting the future of our coffees, managing the social and environmental impacts of our business from the cherry to the cup, improving the lives of coffee farmers and their communities. Jerome is the originator of a range of impact-driven innovations at Nespresso, working together with farmer cooperatives, government agencies, and NGOs such as FairTrade. These innovations include the launch of the first pension fund designed specifically for smallholder coffee farmers in Colombia, as well as a pioneering crop insurance program that helps protect them from the impacts of climate change. He also initiated the Nespresso Reviving Origins program, which aims at reviving forgotten or at-risk coffees in regions that have been blighted by conflicts, economic hardships, or environmental disasters. Before joining Nespresso in 2008, Jerome spent three years as Financial Control Director in Nestlé Waters France, and Belgium. Jerome started his career at Perrier and held different roles for various brands and production sites in France. Jerome, a French native, holds a degree in Business and Management.
